Shibumi of Trevanian

COMMENT: After reading the "prequel" recently published by the great Don Winslow could not resist the temptation to read the original . I must say that I slightly preferred the two to Winslow (probably because it focuses more on the action) but also that of Mr. Trevanian is a book! A very exciting spy story, full of action but also of Eastern philosophy and a truly legendary character! In short, I highly recommend the combination of books!

PLOT: in the ancient Japanese game of Go, the image of the cranes that are returning to the nest and take refuge laurel symbolizes the struggle for the withdrawal of one of the contenders. Nicholai Hel - the protagonist of this novel - you know very well. Last descendant of a noble Russian family emigrated to Shanghai, which was adopted by a noble Japanese warrior ideals and polite oriental Nicholai is opposed to Western values \u200b\u200b- money, interest, success - rampant after the war ended. Exercises his inner strength, aiming to balance that leads to action unrepeatable. Using his skills and his almost mystical deadly fighting technique, becomes a decisive pawn, but invisible above which is involved in the game. Hel is indeed capable of "naked kill", a system that allows you to use common everyday objects as deadly weapons.
